In the late 1800's, Ephraim Shay designed a slow moving, high torque, low geared steam locomotive for the lumber industry. It was a success, and he contracted with Lima Locomotive Works to have them made.
The one in this stellar image is a Lima #2, in Coos Bay (Marshfield back then), Oregon. Circa 1911. Daniels Creek - Beaverhill Timber Co
This is a piece I worked up from an original, exceptionally clear, real photo postcard. It should print in large formats very nicely. It would display well in your train room or study, and would make an excellent gift for that train lover in your life.

My name is Jayson Tuntland. I am a photographic artist, U.S. Army veteran, and native resident of La Moille, IL. My visual artwork is comprised of both my own photography and antique photograph restoration. Much of my personal photographic work seeks to capture and share the beauty of the natural world. My photographic restorations generally fall into one of two categories. The first being historical preservation. The second being pieces I have sought out and chosen to bring back to life because they speak to me in ways that are hard to articulate, but readily understood by the hearts they are meant to touch. Thank you for taking the time to view my work. Should you have any questions or need assistance of any kind, please feel free...
