I had just gotten back to garrison in Hawaii from my tour in Iraq. Most of my off hours I spent searching for quiet places to be alone, which is far from an easy task on a crowded Island. I was pretty mixed up inside back then, and I suppose I still am from time to time. Life was pretty raw in that moment, and I could physically feel a battle raging inside.
One day, as I was frantically searching for a place to be alone, the battle raged worse than it had ever raged before. I wasn't sure I would see another sunrise. Praise God, the angels won. This was my very next sunrise, the morning after. Without words, it perfectly depicted my internal struggle with good and evil, with happy and angry, with calm and stormy, pleasure and pain, and "Angels and Demons".
