Description
In the late 1800's, Ephraim Shay designed a slow moving, high torque, low geared steam locomotive for the lumber industry. It was a success, and he contracted with Lima Locomotive Works to have them made.
The one in this stellar image is a Lima #2, in Coos Bay (Marshfield back then), Oregon. Circa 1911. Daniels Creek - Beaverhill Timber Co
This is a piece I worked up from an original, exceptionally clear, real photo postcard. It should print in large formats very nicely. It would display well in your train room or study, and would make an excellent gift for that train lover in your life.

Great image and it really tells a story of the day with the black and white effect. f/l/tweet

I do love the stories these old photos have to tell. Sometimes I wish they could talk.
